Which neighbourhood?

We will be visiting Granada for two nights in November. We have a baby so we will need a self-catering accommodation. we would like to look into an area which is safe, central and convenient to visit the major sights and yet not too touristy (crowded during the day and deserted at night to be explicit). Since being in what looks the center on a map doesn't always mean being in the best area, I hope some locals or people who are familiar with the city can offer some advice on the area to focus for finding accommodation. Thank you in advance!

1. Re: Which neighbourhood?

Granada is a very modest sized city. Almost anywhere in the area of Plaza Nueva and the Cathedral will be central for any site seeing you would wish to do or accomplish in two days. Come back with addresses as prompt as you like and you can have pros. and cons.

Another vote for Plaza Nueva. Great terrace bars for having a coffee or anything else really. From there it starts the Carrera del Darro street that leads you to Albaizin/Sacromonte and it's a beautiful walk (uphill!)

Also easy access to city center (Cathedral some minutes away)

In my opinion the best place for someone with a baby is realejo

It is fairly flat.

There are lots of little food shops.

Lots of buses will take you to the Alhambra and other parts of the city.

There are plenty of people walking around 24/7

Info here.

Somewhere near the Calle Molinos would be good.

There is a restaurant called the Lopez Correa run by an Englishwoman called Sue which has very good food.
