I just gave a my first ever trip advisor review and gave it a "terrible" rating
Yesterday I went to to museum in Nerja to see the projected cave paintings .
There are some pre-historic cave paintings in the caves but they are not open to the public because they would deteriorate. To see then you have to see the images projected in the museum. Charcoal remains found beside six of the paintings – preserved in Spain's Nerja caves – have been radiocarbon dated to between 43,500 and 42,300 years old.
The four of us arrived and paid the 16 euro entrance fee.
There are two rooms of artefracts. Some broken bowls, a few tools made out of bones and a skeleton etc. When we entered the room where the paintings are projected we realised that we had been ripped off. There was no projected cave paintings because the projector is broken.
When we complained we were told that we had been informed before paying because it is written in very small letters on the door.
This is just a disgraceful rip off which gives Spain a bad name and does damage to the tourist industry.
A respectable looking museum should not be party to this kind of fraud.
