One day - cadiz or seville?

Our liberty of the sea's transatlantic cruise will be in port one day in cadiz, we have the choice of touring cadiz and its surroundings or touring seville. Is it worth the two hour trip to seviile? Is the feria de abril worthwhile during the daytime? We have visited spain countless times, but never cadiz or seville. We are active seniors, do not care about carnival rides, speak spanish. Please help us choose.

2061:

There are more monuments in Seville than Cadiz. If you do not want to go to Seville you can just walk around the peninsula in Cadiz. Read the top questions in the Cadiz forum.

The feria in Seville is more to see people in their very colorful native costumes than taking rides.

We stayed in Seville for 5 days and visited Cadiz. Seville everytime - a beautiful city. Hugely impressive architecture. Loads to see and do. Cadiz was OK but nothing like Seville. Just my opinion, of course.

Unless you want to lie on a beach, it has to be Seville.

Depends how long you have ashore.

If you have 12 hours or so go to Seville but for a shorter stay there is more than enough to keep you occupied in Cadiz - history, culture and definitely far more than just lying on a beach!

Thank you so much to all who responded. We leaning towards Seville, as we originally intended. So many things to see, so little time. I think we'll do the booking while aboard the ship.

As said if you have a long day go to Seville, if short stay in Cadiz. Much to do and see in Cadiz.

Either will be a win-win, good luck and have fun. Hubie

Go to Seville - it's the most wonderful city. Cadiz is a nice city to visit but you will never forget Seville, it's magical.

My husband and I are on the LOS transatlantic also. Would you consider setting up a private tour to Seville for four to six people?

We have done this on previous cruises and prefer a small group to the forty or so on the ships excursion bus. We are active seniors from San Jose, CA.

Seville by a mile! Cathedral, Alcazar, the parks, the streets......everything.
