Biggame1 ....this sounds like a run around. Take care to review things before we do get in a silly muddle. Think before you write ...right ?
Biggame1, what exactly are you trying to do?
Please clearly state your departure point, your destination AND your intended stopping points en route and on the way home!

I apologize for not being clear and having some wrong information. We will be heading to Seville. Our flight is from Miami to Lisbon (on TAP-cheapest flight). I was wandering what is the best way to get from Lisbon to Seville. It seems as if taking a connecting flight to Madrid, then taking the AVE to Seville will be the best. Thank you for your advice, I do appreciate it.
How are you with long distance bus/coaches? Look up www.alsa.es and specifically International journeys and you will find a daily overnight going from Lisbon to Seville. And on certain days (looks like Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun) an afternoon bus leaving Lisbon Sete Rios bus station at 13.30 then Lisbon Oriente at 13.45 finally arriving in Seville at 21.00 Spain is one hour ahead of Portugal. Cost of travel is €39.
Am sure barlaventoexpert can add more ideas from the Algarve.
As you are flying TAP all the way to Lisbon can you not talk to them about flying you on to Seville for best price?
Now we have an idea off your requirements!
2) Although only +- 300km apart there are limited public transport links between the two.
3) The only scheduled public transport links between Lisbon and Seville are:
a) The TAP Air Portugal daily flight which often is operated by small beechcraft/embraer type aircraft.
b) Scheduled alsa.es long distance direct bus service and DAMAS/EVA bus service via Faro, Algarve.
c) THERE IS NO DIRECT RAIL LINK OF ANY TYPE between Lisbon, the rest of Portugal and Seville!
Finally, I would look at vueling.com for possible reasonably priced flights from Lisbon to Seville via Barcelona!
