What hours are churches/cathedrals open and are they free?

In the US, as a general rule, churches/cathedrals are always free but not often open (mostly only open on Sundays in my experience). What is the general rule for when churches and cathedrals are open in Seville? And is this general rule the same everywhere in Spain?

churches and cathedrals who are very relevant from an artistic/historic point of view (for example, cathedral of seville, mosque/cathedral of cordoba, Burgos Cathedral, etc) will be paid. Some others will be for free but you'll have to pay if you want to see the museum/cript inside the church (Santiago de Compostela cathedral, etc). Most of the "regular" churches will be for free.

In seville, as far as i know, san salvador church and the cathedral are paid ones (and both worth the money you pay) and the rest are for free and open every day.
