Train to Cadiz

We are hoping to take the MD train for a day visit to Cadiz. When I try to look up the timetable and fare on the Renfe website I don't seem able to find trains. I have been successful when searching Cordoba etc. Could someone advise please.

The timetables and fares are rolled out at different times so often you see the fast trains using the fast tracks like AVE being published first and then later MD trains so for example for Seville to Cordoba you have AVE, AVANT, MD and some other types of trains. At Seville the MD train is comfortable and cheapest. You can also use San Bernardo station if you want as an alternative to Santa Justa which is the main station where the Madrid to Seville fast trains arrive.

Current times Seville - Cadiz suitable for a day out are these. There may be changes for the summer but unlikely to be major.

0635 weekdays only, 0745 not on Sundays, 0845 daily, 0945 daily, 1045 daily

Coming back : 35 minutes past every hour until 2035hrs, the last train.

MD trains to Cordoba are much less frequent as most of the trains on that route are the AVE, Alvia or Talgo type. There is an MD train at 0838 daily but nothing after that until the afternoon, with return trips at 1620, 1815 and 2015.

I just want to mention the bus as an option especially if staying in the Barrio de Santa Cruz. We found it very convenient to depart and arrive at the Prado de San Sebastian bus station in Seville as we were staying in the Santa Cruz area. The station was a few minutes walk from our hotel, once we'd figured out the maze of the barrio.
