Hiking Ordesa/ Gavarnie mid June - snow a problem?

Around the middle of June we looking to do a multi day loop trek from Torla to Gavarnie & back, taking in the Ordesa valley . Will snow be a major issue at that time of year?

We've previously hiked in and across Aiguestortes at the end of May and that was very much snowbound above the Amitges refuge.

I have hiked up in June and been caught in a very bad snowstorm up there. Each year is different. We are also going back this June with intentions of hiking through Ordessa all the way to Gavarnie in one day if the weather allows. We will be doing running and hiking through the valley to make it in one day.

Thanks for the reply kgordon! We got waylaid on the Andalucian part of our trip so won't be going to Ordesa until mid Sept.

As a matter of interest, what were conditions like in June this year?

We were in Torla and Bielsa mid-June and though we didn't get much higher than 2200 metres we were never in snow and there didn't seem to be much around. Mind you, a couple of years ago we were in Gavarnie around that time, and the Cirque was very difficult past the Hotellerie. The road up to the parking place for the Breche de Roland was closed. I assume the snow always hangs around longer on the French side.
