Guadalajara gets very few visitors but is worth seeing.

I think Zaragoza is worth a visit, it is a middle sized city (700.000) with lots of things to do and attractions. It is also quite cheap for its size. It is also just 300km from Madrid and 300km from Barcelona. It is a 2000 years old city with a bit of everything: romans, muslims, middle-ages, rennainsace, borroque, modern architecture. The main sights are El Pilar (borroque second cathedral), La Seo (Cathedral with a mix of styles), La aljaferia (muslim castle). I think is the perfect city in Spain to get an idea of the average Spain without the influence of many tourists comparing it to Barcelona or Madrid. In Zaragoza you feel you are in a Spanish town for Spanish people, even in the touristic places.
