Gijon for a day

We'll be spending a day in Gijon in mid October on a cruise. I realize there is much to see in Gijon and good shopping, but I am wondering if it would be possible and interesting to do a one day wine tour...,.or if the few wineries in the area even offer tours. We would need a guide with car.

Any suggestions/thoughts appreciated.

It's a hard ask to find wineries near you ..... you'll have to go a long way west before you'll find any decent ones.

You are better off visiting a Cider producer as this is THE drink of Asturias. See this article by Jane Wilson in the Washington Post -> washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/food/cider-for-…

Trabanco (http://www.sidratrabanco.com/) does guided tours, which are organised through their restaurant (llagarestrabanco.com/visitas-llagares-sidra-…).

If you just wanted to go to their restaurant (http://www.casatrabanco.com/) without visiting the Lagar, then you can still drink the good stuff but if you driven all the way there, you may as well see the production process.

Lavandera is about 10km south of Gijon.
