Train from Madrid to San Sebastian question

Hello,

In June we are doing 3 days in Madrid, then want to train to San Sebastian where we will spend 4 nights. I've looked on renfe.com but don't see any direct trains. Is that correct? We are traveling on a sunday so perhaps that is the reasons. Do you have to get off and switch trains and buy 2 tickets?

Thank you!

Hi,

there is a direct train from Madrid (Chamartin station) to San Sebastian. The ride takes aprox. 5h 18min and the train after San Sebastian follows till the french border.
