Already counting the days till my next visit in June! My reasons for coming back to Mallorca every year (twice a year) include:

Warm sunshine

Golden sands

Sparkling blue sea

Beautiful scenery

Excellent restaurants

Relaxing with a wine (or four) after dinner on a lovely warm evening and people watching

I could go on and on .........

The one thing I hate? Coming back home!

Sitting on our balcony this afternoon, looking out to sea watching the seagulls on the water , the thermometer reading 75F and being very glad I'm here and not in chilly England!!

the smell of orange blossom;

the gnarled shapes of the olive trees;

walking in the mountains and hardly seeing a soul all day;

sitting on the terrace of Es Turo in Fornalutx, enjoying a lovely meal and fabulous views;

sitting in Soller's lovely square and drinking a San Miguel;

the market in Pollenca on a Sunday morning;

and, of course, the sun.

So many for me.I have been visiting the island at least once a year for 30 years sometimes 3 times a year.

But to consolidate.I enjoy the impression I get that all the service people in hotels,bars,restaurants etc know full well that the visitors to Majorca are the reason for its prosperity and therefore treat us with respect as long as we show respect for them,which most of us do.

Hi everyone

First time to pop in to the Mallorca forum and look what I find!

7 posts that confirm our choice of Mallorca is spot on for holiday this year.

Considering Soller/Deia area and you have certainly whetted my appetite.

Hope you dont consider me 'off topic' moocher - but I'm now positive I'm going to love it, most certainly upbeat and excited as we begin our research and planning.

Thanks to you all!

I'm feeling upbeat as we've just this week booked this year's trip for September to Majorca. Been most years since we "discovered" this wonderful (and so varied) island about 17 years ago. As soon as we get off the plane it feels like we're arriving at a second "home". (Just wish we could afford one for real)
