First time to Majorca, which resort?

I am considering Majorca in mid July and want some help to decide which resort to go to. It will be two couples over 50 years old. We like nice food (hopefully local & Spanish) and a beer or two, but not into Karaoke, Bingo etc or clubs. Would prefer a resort that is still Majorcan/Spanish or mixed European rather than predominately any of English/Scottish/German etc. Also would like to be within say 30 minutes from airport.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Not sure your ideal place exists, but you might consider Cuidad Jardin, very close to Palma and popular with Spanish tourists.

Coloni Sant Jordi is a little more than 30 mins but not much more and suits your requirements.

Most resorts have a predominant nationality, but not everywhere is like Magaluf or Palma Nova.

Puerto Pollença, Cala Bona or Puerto Soller are all predominantly British but in a more laid-back way.

I would say Puerto Soller fits the bill - there is a mix of nationalities there, and still a lot of Spanish people. There is very little in the way of 'late night' clubbing, but lots of nice places to eat. The beach is relatively small, bu not overcrowded.
