Recommended places to visit .....staying in Puerto Pollensa

Hi

We're staying at Villa Concha Puerto Pollensa in about 10 days time, myself and 2 daughters 14 and 16. Anyone got any recommendations on places to visit, accessible by bus? Would like to visit a traditional Spanish village, perhaps Valdemossa, and some markets. Perhaps hire bikes for the day....

Also, is the Hidropark water park in Alcudia worth visiting?......mixed reports on here.

The City of Palma is a day out, it did cost 11 euro's return a few years back, so should still be reasonable. PP has a bus station that you can get buses to a number of other places

Have just come back from staying in the town of Pollensa so if you are staying in the Port, it is definitely worth making the short bus trip to the town for a wander around, ( market day is Sunday although I wasn't there for a Sunday so don't know what it's like).

Easy to get to Palma by bus for about 5-6 Euros each way. Valldemossa would be more complicated as you would have to go to Palma and then get another bus, although No Frills excursions do a trip to Soller and Valldemossa which is worth considering. www.nofrills-excursions.com

Haven't been to Alcudia town but that looks interesting and would be easy to get to.

At least 3 places where you can hire bikes and the area is flat so suitable for cycling. However it is likely to be too hot for cycling especially in the middle of the day.You need to keep hydrated.

You could take the local buses to Cala San Vicente for a complete seaside contrast (only a few miles away) and Cap Formentor. There are also boat trips and ferries from the marina.

If you like waterparks rather than the one in Alcudia which is tame by comparison I would go with No-Frills to one in the South.No-Frills have a booking office next to Burger King which is not far from Villa Concha.

Also bus up to Soller is great- stops for an hour as Lluc so you can look round the monsatry, constinues to Port de Soller, get a tram to Soller, ride on old wooden train to Palma then fast bus back to PP. Makes a fab day out with lots of photo opportunities
