Airport bars shut

Just wondered how long the bars will be shut at Palma, it was a bit of a pain having to queue for 40 minutes for a burger king and then 20 mins at subway to buy a small bottle of wine. Take made up peices with you anyway.

Maybe ask the Spanish Union involved with the airport catering staff that question. 25% unemployment and the quiet Winter months approaching and they have decided to go on strike.

This has been going on for the last two weeks and the interesting thing is that no one really cares. Most passengers just have their coffee, beer or sandwich on the plane.

No big deal a all.

I understand there is to be a Budget statement by the Spanish Government at the end of this week.Simultaneously there are reports that the country's banks need a bailout of 50 billion-80 billion euros from ECB/IMF/World Bank/Simon Cowell.

As crazypom says the national unemployment rate is 25% but for under 25s it is over 50%.And people in work are being called out on strike! Beggars belief.
