Day out from Palma- help please

(Just had a wonderful long lunch at La Pergola-Avda Joan Miro)

Would like to take a day out of Palma by public transport this friday.

We will be moving to Port Soller on Saturday for 6 nights, so would love suggestions for a trip we probably wouldn't consider doing from Soller.

Ideally a scenic route with a nice stop for lunch and a wander round. Maybe a nice beach stop as well. Would be especially nice if we could take a different route back. We don't mind spending time travelling. Thank you in advance for any ideas.

Suggestion:

Take the express bus from Palma Bus Station to Port de Pollensa (journey time about 75 minutes).Alight at the PdP Bus Station by the taxi rank and marina.Have a stroll around this resort which is along the lines of Port de Soller but with more and (imo) better beaches.Or if you don't mind a walk of say 50 minutes in all walk from the bus station along the pedestrianised promenade and onto Pine Walk which is a renowned scenic traffic-free path that follows the shoreline.Walk as far as Hotel Illa d'Or.Then walk back in the direction of the bus station and stop off at any of the beaches that takes your fancy.Beds and umbrellas for hire 13 euros.

Depending on your timing, stop off for another "wonderful long lunch" just like today's at the Hotel Bahia's outside restaurant under the pines at the water's edge with panoramic views of Bay of Pollensa.Rest assured it is not "just another typical hotel restaurant". Or if it is full and it often is at lunchtime, the outside restaurant at Hotel Miramar is a good spot overlooking the beach and the bay. If you are into Serrano Ham they carve it off a whole leg and a plateful for one with melon will hit your pocket for over 20 euros! Nice with a bottle of Vina Sol.

For a change of transport mode get the bus from PdP to Sa Pobla train station and get the train back to Palma from there.
