Cala'n Porter Urgent Advise required

We are thinking of booking a villa in Cala n'Porter

for the last week in October & the owner has very kindly contacted us to warn us that because it is the last week of the tourist season it will be very quiet & restaurants;bars & shops will be closing down.

We were going to hire a car anyway but can anyone advise how far the larger supermarket will be & will there be any facilities as above be open in case we decide to eat out one night. The villa does have a lot of home comforts which will be handy if the weather turns bad but it would be nice if we could have a choice of staying in or going out

Looking forward to receiving early replies to help us

make a decision

Regards

There is a couple of supermarkets in Cala n'Porter, but it may be cheaper to go in to San Climent (you have to drive through there from the airport) as this is for the locals rather than tourists. Any of the larger towns will have supermarkets that will be open.

Last week in October is the South of England school holiday week so some things in CnP will still be open to catch the last of the tourists. There may not be a great deal of entertainment going on & the Tabac is definitely closed. Also the supermarkets will have run down the stock,so as per the previous post, you should shop at the Spar in St Climent.

As there is quite a large ex pat population in CnP many of the bars & restaurants stay open, maybe not every night, even through the winter months.

Hope this helps.

If you drive a couple minutes more from san climente and straight over at the airport roundabout you will see mahon industrial estate on your left, there are 3 big supermarkets with more choice and cheaper prices than resort supermarkets and the spar in san climente

dia, hyper climent and hyper centro

The supermarkets in cala n porter resort will have limited stock and check sell by dates, because there is no winter season they don´t restock

hope that helps
