Menorca tour

We will be in Porto Mahon in Menorca in early September for one day only from a cruise ship. Can someone please suggest the best walking tour we could do for half a day, please? Many thanks.

There is the possibility that the cruise company will offer something itself but can you enlarge on the type of thing you want to see ? Mahon is not a huge place so you could easily just grab a tourist info guide from the tourist information centre at the foot of the steps up to the old town from the harbour side ( there are usually a couple to choose from but they all have street maps in them) and just have a bit of a random wander. You can take boat tours of the harbour ( which is said to be the second deepest natural harbour in the world) but as you are coming off a liner I suspect you will see that for free on your way in and out of port so that would be pointless..

There is lots of info about the island on http://www.mymenorca.info/, menorcaexplorer.com/en/… and if you are interested in the unique prehistorical sites of the island www.menorcamonumental.org ( although I doubt you would have time to visit any of those)

This has come up a few times before, try putting the word "cruise" in the search box and you might see a few previous responses.

The general itinerary advice for those in port for only a day is usually Es Grau for coffee, Fornells for lunch, monte Toro for the views and a beach on the south coast if you have time in the afternoon.

Whilst that may seem a lot to organise on your own, if your cruise Company are organising an excursion like this or similar I'd bite their arm off.
