We don't have any large "outlet stores as such", in fact, clothes shopping for kids and adults alike is very expensive here, so much so that most of us residents go to Palma, Barcelona and even the UK to do our clothes shopping!

In Ciutadella there are a few boutique type shops that sells kids clothes, once again I warn you, it will not be cheap. These are located in the center of town, so if you are exploring the town you will find them. There is a discont supermarket on outskirts of town, towards Cala Blanca, they sell cheaper clothes, but nothing special.

In mahon, as with Ciutadella, there are lots of little boutique clothes shops and there is also a supermarket called Hipercentro located on the industrial estate, that sells some kids clothes.

Hope this helps,

As Raff has said, the Ciutedella side in the area near the small beach is going to be the cheapest but there is only a about 3 or 4 shop.

There is also 2 shops I know of in Cala Forcat, in the shopping area over the road from Las Yucas, but you might find it expensive unless they are having an end of season sale.

I agree - all the clothes for both adults and children on the island that I have seen are very expensive in comparison to the UK in fact perhaps you should see what there is in the UK duty free shops before you set off. Be warned though that the gift and clothing shops at Mahon airport are expensive so don't rely on last minute buys on the way back!

If I were you I would try and get your grandaughter to settle for some fancy 'Varcas. Away from the resort shops ( which often sell a very limited range at OTT prices) you will find factory outlets and specialist shops selling very girlie ones ( from sparkly leather through to coloured suede with menorcan lizards or flowers painted on them) and these sometimes have little matching handbags available. If she had those she would have the advantage of having something unique that none of her friends at home will have. I know of shops selling these in Mahon, Cuitadella (there are several near the harbour and in the main strech of shops near to the church), Es Migorn (shop called Mibo on the industrial estate) Ferreries ( think it is called Ca'n Doble but don't quote me - there is a sign for it painted on the side of a building as you drive into town from the Cuitadella direction) and I saw a post this summer mentioning an Avarca outlet in Es Castell near the harbour so you would be sure to find something somewhere.
