Hi Violet - This is a very new development of upmarket dwellings on what was essentially a green field site - so nothing much else in the near vicinity. You may want to check that building work is not taking place near the one you're considering. The development is part of the Olsen empire see fredolsen.es/PublicSite/…index.aspx and about a 5 minute car drive up the mountain from Santiago itself - just above the Tecina Golf Course if you look on Google maps. I guess that you get good sea views from there and a pool (which is not usual with rentals on La G) but otherwise IMHO it looks like a pleasant suburban estate in the middle of nowhere. Its no more difficult for travel by car to other parts of the island than anywhere else. (Ie it takes a long time to get anywhere on La Gomera!). The bus to San Sebastian and down to Santiago stops nearby and you can take the new Olsen boat from Santiago port to SS, VGR and Tenerife. If you're considering other self-catering options some of the Casas Rurales may be of interest gomera-individual.com/en/…index.html.
