Looking for an'old town' hol destination in GC please

Hello experts, We are a middle aged academic couple looking for a traditional resort in an older style if its possible. Needing winter sun over New Year this year we are looking outside our usual Europe and into Gran Canaria. I don't know if the resorts are all modern or if there's anywhere based on an established old town to eat out within easy reach of hotels. Any suggestions? We like to swim, stroll, eat out and shop (flea markets, boutiques or food markets). Thanks for ideas... Dolly.

The only place I can think of in GC is Las Palmas. Around Las Canteras ticks your boxes but it is part of a big city (number 7 in Spain).

The one place which definitely meets your criteria is Puerto de la Cruz on Tenerife.

Check these two out and if you have some more questions you can get back to us.

Hi Dollypond

I have just had a look at your reviews. If you liked Ullapool you will love Puerto de Mogan.
