I am hoping that someone can offer me some advice/recommendations.
Sadly a friend has let me down so I am looking to travel to PDC alone early December. It has been an extremely stressful few months and I am desperate for a break to 'de-stress' and relax a bit.
It will also be my Birthday during the holiday so I would like it to be as special as possible.
However, I am a little apprehensive as I have never traveled alone previously. I chose Lanzarote as I have been to PDC and I am fairly familiar with it, I love the place, it is relaxing and it will [hopefully] evoke good memories.
I am a single female and obviously safety will be my main priority, I am very self-aware and sensible so as long as I stick to the 'main' area's and don't stay out late or drink a lot and I am sensible I am sure I will be safe.
However, I was wondering what is the best option - self catering or half board? I know there are numerous gorgeous places to eat in PDC, but I felt that I would be safer and less 'self-conscious' if i ate at the hotel and didn't go out of the area too far.
Also I was hopefully looking for a bit of affordable luxury - maybe a 4* if the costs allow and I would really love a seaview. As i said, it has been a bad year for me and I want to really treat myself. In addition, I don't want accomodation problems or issues to resolve which could potentially spoil my holiday.
Finally, I know PDC so I think I would be more comfortable there if I want to go for a quick cocktail in the evening, but would those that are more familiar with Lanzarote recommend PDC or Costa Teguise?
I don't know CT; but I am fairly easy going and as long as I have a nice hotel with good food or lovely central apartments to chill at close to the beach, bars and shops etc I am happy.
Please could anyone recommend which to chose when travelling alone? Half board or S/catering?
Also any useful suggestions or advice particularly on where to stay etc would be greatly appreciated.
I will be going early December, my dates are pretty flexible and I am hoping to get a good deal as It is less than 6 weeks to departure.
Thank you for your replies and help in advance, much appreciated.
