Hi, we like Puerto de la Cruz on the northern coast. A more traditional town/resort dating back to the 1600s with lots of old buildings and shady squares to sit and watch the world go by. It has a large black sand (volcanic) beach at one end an award winning sea water lido on the sea front and a smaller beach used by surfers at the other. There is a good range of hotels and self catering apartments, shops and restaurants. However it does lack the water parks, boat trips the sourthern resorts have.
