have been in feb many times and temps have been low to mid 70's mostly when we have been there.

have only been in jan twice and temps were around the 70 mark.

both months when in the sun its lovely but can feel cool first thing and late at night.

we have dropped lucky and always got mostly sunny days as well. sometimes its cloudy in the morning but the sun burns it off before dinner or lunch if your posh !!.

ourself we prefer feb to jan with it being a little bit warmer. having said that its a lot warmer than back home. its a good time to go with the "old uns" more in evidence than the "young uns"

Hi you will leave friends and work colleagues in the cold and wet, and 4 hours later you will land in hot sunshine. This is a lovely time of the year. Shorts and tee shirts during the day. Time to unwind with a good book on the beach or around the pool from say 10ish to 3ish. Perhaps a thin jumper or shaul at night, dinner under the stars in one of the many street-side restaurants. Better than an English summer!!

Maggie:

We went to Tenerife last February and found it hot. We wished we had brought lighter clothing. There is also high humidity. However we enjoyed our trip very much.

Please dont think that coming in Jan/Feb you will be guaranteed wall to wall sunshine - February is the middle of our winter so is likely to be the coolest and wettest month, last year was particularly bad, who can forget the floods, although these were mainly in the north and west

and I remember one year the main Carnaval Parade in Santa Cruz had to be postponed for several days because of the bad weather.

Having said that when the sun shines which it does most of the time it is nice and warm, low 20s but of course no-one can guarantee great weather all the time, unless of course you are looking to go on a 12 hour flight from the UK but then you could get hurricanes - !!!

We have been in Tenerife Jan and Feb ...south and south west for I can't remember how many years .....last January was the worst but after a couple of days then turned out to be one of the best ...the year before one half day of heavy showers and some wind ......other years some cloud ,scattered ... but always warm ....a light cardigan was all I needed on a few occasions ....and swimming every day ....except on the storm days ...and I needed the sun shade .....
