I trust the above link will give you the actual temperatures for October last year – if you then click on previous year you see the weather then. You can also click on specific days to get a breakdown hour by hour. I could not remember having much rain last year so clicked on a couple of days were it was indicated what I found was it happened for a short period, perhaps 30 mins and was during the night.
We usually go end of October school half term, warm durning day, sea plus pool's cold also might need light jacket/cardigan in the evening,we go easter time to, alway's had fab weather but this time not to good.
What has been said in the message above is not right.
The sea is at its warmest in october (25-26C) being the coldest in march and april (with appr 19C) because it had the chance to warm up all summer.
Same goes for unheated pools. Anyone saying that the sea is 'cold' in october has never been in it in march...
Thank you all for your input. It looks like Tenerife may be a good spot for us this October.
we had our first winter sun holiday in the canaries a few years ago and could not believe how warm it was after going to europe the year before. We were roasting but kept saying "I'm NOT saying it's too hot!"
Weather is lovely in canaries in October - best time to go - not too hot.but fine for usual bech activities. Pack your bikini and sun cream. Enjoy!
We were there last October half term and found the sea and pools to be lovely and warm for this time of year. No need for any cardi at night either and I feel the cold. Because of the lovely warmth we booked straight away to return in just under 3 weeks. Can't wait.
Trish
To give you a comparison, summer sea temperatures in Cornwall range from 16-19c. Tenerife sea temperatures range from 19-24c, so even in winter it's as warm or warmer in Tenerife.
