Hotel with sun-roof

I'm going alone to Tenerife for some sun. I want a cheapish hotel with a sun-roof. I want to be in a city centre, but as a single female traveller want to feel safe walking to restaurants at night. Also does anyone know of a salt-water pool anywhere there?

Hi, you don't say which resort you are interested in. There is a large sea water lido complex with free form pools in Puerto de la Cruz and another in the capital Santa Cruz. A number of hotels in many of the resorts have roof top pools.

Tenerife is safe, if not safer than many UK cities, as long as you take care. Many families eat late at night at stret side bars and restaurants.

Thank-you.

Is the capital the most interesting city?

Puerto de la Cruz & Santa Cruz are both in the north of the island which tends to be cooler and wetter than the south so possibly not the best area to be looking if you are seeking winter sun.

Hi, we have had some lovely holidays in Puerto de la Cruz over the winter months. We were out in November and going again in January. The steep hillsides of the Oratava Valley are lush and green, so do get more cloud, often overnight. However the coast is often dry and sunny. We always return with a lovely tan.

Santa Cruz is the capital city, great for shopping, just 40 minutes by bus from Puerto.

Are there any salt water swimming pools in Playa de las Americas?

The south of the island gets my vote, so that's PDLA, Los Cris and Costa Adeje. They are all relatively close to the airport for transfers as most flights land in the south of the island. We always opt for Costa Adeje which is close enough to wander into PDLA.
