Buying an apartment

Hi are there rules when getting a mortgage on an apartment in Tenerife? Do I need a Spanish bank account? Will I need to pay spanish tax on any income from renting it out to pay the mortgage? Is it actually worth the hassle? Will I be able to rent it out? I am looking to but on Christian sur in Los cristianos

Yes you will need an NIE, a Spanish bank account and pay tax if you rent. IMO only worth it if you use it a lot yourself, or intend to move here permanently at some stage (although then you would not live in a resort) but would have a foot on the ladder. I have sent you a PM which may help.
