Could you help me set up a travel plan?

We are big fans of (moderate) hiking and nature and were thinking about visiting the (Catalonian) Pyrenees. I see there are natural parks like Cadi-Moixera, Aiguestortes, Ordesa and Guara ...

We have about 10 days. What places would you recommend? Where to sleep? Also is june a good period to visit? What about end of april?

Thank you in advance for all help!

We rented a car the end of May in Barcelona-drove up the Costa Brava and then into the Pyrenees. Not sure which direction you are going/coming from but

we stayed one night in Le Seu de' Urgell because we had very long drive from Cadaques and stopped in many places along the way. Only reason to stay there is to see the Olympic Site for kayaking (when we were there we actually got to watch some European practice times before a competition) We thn went on to Aiguestortes. We stayed on both sides of the park and had some really beautiful moderate hikes. We stayed in a ski village called Salardu and in a historic inn in Taull. We made a large loop through Solsonna, then Montserrat and ended up back in Barcelona.

We did not have GPS and had no difficulty driving and finding our way.

Hope this was helpful - I will be glad to give you more info if you want it.

Kindertea: that sounds exactly like we would like to do! Could you give us some more details? What hikes did you do? Thank you!

Just a few suggestions:

1. bring hiking/walking sticks

2. use micheline driving guide to estimate actual driving time as the mountain roads were beautiful with many gorgeous views but very slow

3. entered Parc Nacional d'Aguessstortes through Espot-took a van in and did the trail to the waterfall, continued up and had lunch by the upper lake and walked to the overlook and returned to the van (check times of last vans)

4. hiked/walked from Baqueira/Beret to Montgarri-reaized after that many people drove in to Montgarri and could do some walks around there

5. From Taull entered the park and parked our car and hiked to Plannel d' Aguestortes and took the van back
