We have just come back, I know its a bit early for your information but as for the crowds this may help.

We were there Fri to Monday. It is a busy city, the Ramblas was busy all day, quiet about 10 - 11 am. The tourist buses get busy there were queues for them, and as we went past the museums etc there were people waiting to get in there as well. I would think that as in any city there are always tourists there. There were no cruise ships in ;ast weekend as I think that swells the crowds quite bit. Hope that helps

Enjoy its a lovely city.

in Baca?? this is in new shorten name LOL

a bit of free advice:

Barça is ONLY the football team and using it to name the city really flags you as 'clueless tourist'. If you want to sound like a native or connoisseur... say 'barna' and write BCN :))

regarding weather, any good weather website will tell you the historical averages. But regarding one of the most variable and unpredictable months in a city with crazy weather... basically you can get from beach time to quite cold and rainy. Always pack to wear in layers. And check the forecast a few days before your trip (and still take it wit a pinch of salt)

crowds... the poster above is right. There is not a low-season in Barcelona anymore

Well, leejan, please hold your tongue. I, actually, was going to write to compliment Belsita on how well she educated you. It's a very sticky issue to try to do...especially when you show how easily people are offended by such education.

My classic example was when an elderly man asked the bus driver in Palo Alto, CA when the next bus left for "Frisco". And the bus driver, a much younger man said very politely "That's San Francisco, sir." ("Frisco" is the equivalent of your error...screams to the world that you are an outoftowner.")

And I have been in situations in my part of the U.S. where I have heard educated, intelligent people say "Frisco" and I have wondered how to deal with it. Most of the time I have let them be ignorant, but I kick myself for not being like the bus driver....Of course, I didn't tell you how offended the old man was!!! Maybe people only like to taught in a classroom?!

Belsita has been a positive contributor to the Forum for a while now, and I haven't detected meanness or

sarcasm. Sorry you took it the wrong way.

Dear Leejan, I'm sorry if I offended you. But I'm NOT the one writing offensive words here!

I was not sarcastic, but ironic and so there was the :)) in case it was unclear

I do not mind if you have visit Barcelona twice or two hundred times. But of course you can choose not to learn and be clueless forever. If no one point us our errors, we keep on them forever

I hope what I wrote could be useful to others so at least I not totally wasted my time. Some people really take TA as a place to learn and understand new cultures

My advice about weather and what to pack was equally unhelpful I guess

You total Pick friend Belsaita

(whatever this means, and I'm not being ironic there, I've no idea and I do not mind)

When you are called clueless there is only one way of taking it and that is that you are deemed as stupid or uneducated. I used the Barca as a simple shortening of the word, but I would also note that there are tourists books that are simpley named Barca.

I use TA for all my trips and have never been called clueless by any of the experts, but I guess on the Orlando forums they are just more helpfull.

No excuses for the clueless jibe

Leejan, English is not my first language. I used the 'clueless' term in the sense of someone who don't knows something, and someone who don't knows always can learn (if he wants to!). I was advising you would be flagged as 'clueless' by the use of certain word. Maybe I should had use another word, don't know.

However 'idiot' is a much stronger offensive word in my book, and I don't deserve it

I will not apologize more about my mistake while you keep insulting me

end of this issue from my side. I've better ways to spend my time
