Can anyone suggest places to go if the weather is wet?

the many museums, the gaudi's houses, the palau de la musica, the aquarium, a shopping mall... it depends on your tastes :)

Hola michelle!

Santa maria del mar and the cathedral with a pair of binoculars and look at the ceiling and the nooks and crannies.

Shops and museums and art galleries.

I love comfort tapas or pintxo, spent a few hours in Irati and Portalon doing this.

Thanks for the suggestions. Have visited Barcelona at least 6 times in May and August and always had good weather but we will be there in October this time. I was thinking more of visiting museums, not that bothered about shopping.

It depends on what you like but for museums I'd recomend:

Museu Maritim , MNAC and Museu d historia de la ciutat

( in no particular order ! )

Treasure Island...

Please don't let the weather slow you down, try and get out there and see as much as you can. Hubie

We were there in October last time and the weather was gorgeous!!

Think sunny and you shall have it!

There are lots of places to see that are indoors just in case.

Besides what has already been suggested, there's Picasso and Miro museums which show the development of each artist.

Personal reccommendation of the museum: street Montcada (next to museum Picaso), museum Disseny Hub Barcelona. The have interesting expositions.

october is not usually a rainy month

actually you have more probabilities of rain (summer storms) in august than in october

but, who knows with the crazy weather we had lately

but the climate in barcelona is mediterranean, very dry, we usually suffer for lack of water. last winter was very unusual.

Thanks everyone. I've not heard of the museums suggested by 'diagonalflats', I'll look them up. Hope we get lots of sunshine but just in case it rains I'll be prepared!

Another idea: this thread discusses spas in Barcelona; might be a fun way to while away part of a rainy day...
