Girona / Cadaques side trip?

First time in Catalonia. Total of about 2 weeks (I know, not enough). Flying into and will spend 4-5 days in Barcelona. Will end trip with 4-5 days based in Madrid (we fly home from Madrid). Thinking of adding Girona for 2 nights or so with day trip to Cadaques from there. Make sense? Other suggestions for 2-3 days between Barcelona and Madrid? Thanks

Hola Waterguy!

Sounds a great idea! So many travellers only do Montserrat on a day trip from Barcelona and never see the real Catalunya which is a shame as its a beautiful country.

Girona is a great city in its own right, Cadaques is well worth exploring- be sure to visit the small Dali museum in the town which displays some early Dali works. Then theres Emporda wine country, or a trip to Besalu or even up into the Pyrenees to a town like Camprodon will allow you to experience the real Catalan people.

Go check the must sees and dos on the Girona, Pyrenees and Roses forums.

Have a great time planning your trip!

Bon viatge!

Yes your trip make sense (and sounds really good)

You could add Tarragona or Valencia between Barcelona and Madrid.
