Sitges would be my choice but is a much quieter place than Tossa, both have history and things worth seeing, But for Sitges think Cannes or Saint Tropez , whereas for Tossa think Benidorm or Blackpool

Chappers, I think you've confused Tossa de Mar with Lloret de Mar. Tossa is touristy but not overly so - no ugly high rises or kiss-me-quick hats. It's dramatically situated with it's historic walled area and castle, the old village centre and set among rocky cliffs and bays and turquoise water.

Sitges is fine too, but it's not the Costa Brava - one of the best coastlines in Europe. Sitges has a relatively small older part with a white walled church, an older town and old fortifications looking out to sea, plus with beaches on either side. The beach to the south is long and open but set in bays divided by breakwaters. Sigtes has a younger/ wealthier feel than Tossa due its proximity to Barcelona and the thriving gay scene but it lacks the surrounding scenery or places of interest.

Asmaa, just a point but you keep asking the same questions. Have a look at Google Maps to get an idea of distances and use the Photos feature to be able to see pictures from the two areas to compare.

Sorry I was being a bit over dramatic, to be fair though there seem to be more "English " type restaurants and pubs moving into Tossa, plus kids coin slot rides etc in front of shops . Something I have not seen in Sitges.

But you are right both o ave their charm

We have only been to Sitges and stayed at the San Sebastian playa. We loved this little place with quite a bit of history and a beach, lots of places to eat out. Sorry we have never been to TDM

Good luck

I would choose Tossa as the countryside north of Barcelona is prettier than going south.
