1. Re: Barcelona bus tours

both HoHo companies are quite similar. Barcelona bus turistic is owned by the public transport company, Barcelona city tour is owned by some private companies.

If you are in BCN for just a day the Touristic bus can be a good option. Remember that the public transportation system works pretty well and you can easily walk everywhere (only Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell are a little bit far away). Enjoy Barcelona!

They both operate similar, if not the same routes

having done the HOHO one, I can advise the following

they have 3 routes, the 2 main routes are Red & Blue, with a third route of Green

HOHO own maps/info advises you allow roughly 2 hours for each Red & Blue route and 1 hour for the green route,

we spent the best part of a day on the Red & Blue route, having got off at several main tourist spots etc

we never got near the green route

I can highly recommend the HOHO option and you would be better off getting a 2 day ticket (if you have the time)

There is no Ho Ho tour guide. It's an audioguided tour and you chose the language that you want.

... and it's a quite large portfolio of languages: Catalan, Spanish, English, French, German, Italian, Russian, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese and most recently Urdu too. Spoiled for choice Ginrickey ?? :))

What, no Arabic???? Guess I'll stick with my English. I'm really looking forward to my visit in about 6 weeks.

Yes

they have about 6-8 different languages on the bus audio system

they give you free earphones, you then select the number for the language you want

from memory, I think English was No.3

D...ned!, hold on @Ginrickey... let's press some buttons so Arabic is included too when you arrive. LOL :)))

Actually it's a good point because we also have many people coming from countries where this language is spoken... I guess it'll be added sooner or later. The same happened with Russian not so many years ago and Urdu (Urdu!) just a couple of years ago.
