Train from Madrid

Hi All

Hoping to visit your fantastic City again in March, but due to high flight costs,am looking at flying to Madrid and then taking the train to Barcelona.

Who offers a high speed service and whats the approximate cost ?

The high speed train service "AVE", is offered only (so far) by the Spanish railroad company, RENFE.

The cost vary depending the kind of seat, kind of ticket (refundable or not, etc...), buying online in advance you can get big discounts. Read this:

Said that, and even I prefer the AVE any day, as you will already be at MAD airport, you may have a look at low cost flights. Check Vueling and Air Europa, maybe others do this route too. The train is a better overall experience, more relaxed and city centre to city centre. But in your case, you have to reach the city centre first so part of the time savings and convenience may not apply.

Buen viaje!

@lordyManchester... I seriously doubt that you can travel MAN-MAD-BCN cheaply. What about LPL-BCN? or even MAN-GIR then by train (40') to BCN -that's certainly cheaper and faster than MAD-BCN
