Hola Stuart,

Just by googling, I found the location of the Lions' Tower (Torre dels Lleons). It looks gorgeous but it's far from the centre of town. You'll need a taxi.

sibariscatering.com/en/torre_situacion.php

Since your visit is short and the main purpose is to attend the wedding and reception, it might make sense to stay near Plaça Espanya. That's the area on the left side of tourist Barcelona. It's closest to the airport and also to the Lions' Tower. You could take the Aerobus into town for under 6€ per ride. Get the r/t ticket for about 10€.

Some nice hotels with rooftop pools include:

B Hotel (one of my favs)

Catalonia Barcelona Plaza

Taxi to the centre of town at Plaça Catalunya should be about 25-30€. Less for Plaça Espanya.

The B_hotel's pool is now overlooked by the roof terrace of Las arenas shopping centre so not as nice as it was.

Torre de los Leones is in Esplugues de Llobregat , same area as the German and American Schools and yes a taxi is the easiest way from Barcelona especially if you are in wedding finery! Alternative is metro plus a bus

The bride's recommendations are likely to be a lot more than 500€ for 3 nights in June, even without breakfast

Firstly, know that certain people over here has the bad habit of translating Catalan names into Spanish... that only leads to confusion for foreign visitors as the street names as well as the names of many places and landmarks are only in Catalan, the local language. I don't exactly know whether the name of the restaurant you mention is originally in Spanish or not (it could be, of course), but just in case, take note of the name in Catalan too: La Torre dels Lleons. Personally I've always known it as such.

La Torre dels Lleons it's a posh restaurant technically located outside Barcelona, in the neighbouring town of Esplugues de Llobregat, bordering the Barcelona neighbourhood of Pedralbes. It's very often used for weddings because it's big and has a large garden: phloxevents.com/wp-content/…

From Santa Maria del Mar you can reach it by metro+bus or bus+bus (and a bit of walk) but all together it'll take you over an hour. I strongly recommend to take a taxi instead, it shouldn't cost you more than 30€. Still, if you're interested in public transportation let us know as there are several combinations you can take.

The restaurant it's located in Plaça Donya Carolina but it's such a very small square that if taking a taxi from Barcelona you might want to mention as well that's off the Jacint Esteva Fontanet avenue which is a main avenue in that town. Lastly to mention that Torre dels Lleons (torre=mannor) is a sort of a nickname -although nowadays has become its name de facto- but the place is really called Castell de Picalquers (castell=castle). And it's called the 'mannor of the lions' because it has/had(?) several stone statues portraying lions.

Certaintly you don't want to book a hotel near the Torre dels Lleons, that'd frankly be too far from everything else. Instead, follow the advice of the others above and stay in the city.

A taxi from the airport to the city center is roughly 30-35€.
