Palace of Catalan Music

We want to go to the Palace of Catalan Music. With all the stained glass, it seems it would be better to see this in the day. I understand we will need to get a guided tour. My question is: Is it better to see an actual concert at night or will we miss some of the beauty?

On a concert you just access the main hall to listen to the performance, on a tour you're shown all the details and crannies while having an explanation by a professional guide.

We did the guided tour and it was very interesting. Palau de la Música Catalana is the most beautiful monument in Barcelona IMO.

Hola pianist,

Ideally, one would visit in the daytime for the guided tour and audio visual presentation and return one evening for a musical performance! Of course, Life is never ideal, lol.

In the 1hr guided tour, you'll first see a video presentation that is a great introduction to the Modernist movement and the history of Barcelona. This short presentation will enrich the rest of your Barcelona visit. Everywhere you go, you'll notice little details of Modernism in the city. I suggest that people see it early in their trip. You'll also get to visit a room that is normally closed to the public during evening performances, the Lluís Millet Hall. www.palaumusica.cat/en/photo-gallery_23608

In the evening, the palau is truly a glowing gem. You can see the illumination of the stained glass in this picture:

The accoustics are known to be very good too.
