la pedrera or Casa batllo

Which Gaudi house should we tour? la pedrera is under restoration. Does that negatively affect the experience? Or should we see Casa batllo?

Hola pianist,

Pls read this recent thread, in particular posts #3 and # 9.

La Pedrera (the stone quarry) is what locals call Casa Mila. Even if the exterior is covered, it is worth a visit. The interior is very interesting, especially the exhibition on Gaudi. Don't miss going up to the roof to see the chimneys.

Was just there last week and toured La Pedrera due to the lower price. The construction was not an issue, other than not getting a picture of the cool facade in front. However, after seeing one of my tourmate's pictures of Casa Batllo, I really wished I spent the money to do that one instead. Looked like there was a lot more to it.

Casa Mila (La Pedrera) has a magnificent rooftop and an exposition where you can grasp the essence of Gaudí's architectural style. It's also cheaper. Barcelona is all about that architect.

Barcelona is certainly famous for Gaudi's work but there is much more. It's really about the Modernism movement. If you search this forum for Ruta del Modernisme or look at Images of Barcelona in the Top Questions, you'll see.
