which costa brava beach town?

Hi All,

My wife and I are visiting Spain for about 2 weeks in early July. We would like to end our trip on a relaxing note by spending ~4 nights in a relaxing beach town...very exicted!.. Any suggestions for a scenic beach town with great food and more of a 'family owned inn' feel as opposed to resorts and such?

For some context we disliked Nice/Cannes along the french riviera but enjoyed some of the more low-key towns ~ 30 mins east of Nice. We also enjoyed the Cinque Terre In Italy and Kalkan in Turkey.

Thanks!!

We really liked Tossa de Mar, a nice sized town with interesting shops and restaurants. The old town is beautiful. The only down side is that the beach is coarse, tiny stones rather than sand. Other than that, its very nice.

Sant Feliu de Guixols has a nice bay and the interesting El Corsari bar which is inside a cave!
