what / how to do BCN in one day

From the seaport, what is the lowest cost way for two people to see Basilica of the Sagrada Familia and Park Guell?

And would it be too taxing for me either before or after go to Montserrat?

If you only have one day is better if you do the Hop on Hop off bus ( there's a stop in the port) so you can see the city and also stop in Sagrada Familia and Park Güell. Montserrat is like 1 hour from Barcelona by train. and taxi is gonna be expensive ( maybe 80-100 €)

The Ho Ho bus is not the cheapest way to get to the Sagrada Familia from the cruise port. You can easily take the metro for as little as 1.03€ per ride (using a T10 ticket). Here's how to do it:

1) Blue shuttle bus from cruise port to Drassanes metro (2-3€)

2) Buy a T10 ticket at the metro station. It can be shared so just buy 1 ticket for 10.30€ (gives you 2 rides).

3) L3 (green) line direction Trinitat Nova from Drassanes station to Diagonal station

4) Transfer for free to L5 (blue) line dir Vall d'Hebron, from Diagonal to Sagrada Familia station

Buy tickets in advance for the Sagrada Familia to avoid very long lines.

5) Taxi to Park Guell for about 10€

Buy tickets in advance for Park Guell.

6) From Park Guell, walk down to the Lesseps metro station and take the L3 (green) line to EITHER Passeig de Gracia to admire more Modernist architectural gems, including Gaudi's Casa Batllo or Casa Mila aka La Pedrera OR to Liceu station to see the famous (but touristy) La Rambla and the Gothic quarter (Barri Gotic).

For more info on how to buy tickets, pls see the Top Questions. If you need advice on how long to spend in each place, read the Top Questions and then specify what you plan to do at the Sagrada Familia.

rick:

You will not have time to see Montserrat. That is a whole-day sight.

Be sure to book the Sagrada Familia online to avoid the long queue.

Agree... and should be 30'-40' (traffic permitting!) and around 30€ maximum (which includes the supplement for departing the port area)... or you could take the T3 port bus which would take you to La Rambla, there the metro (line 3, green) at Liceu to Vallcarca station and then walk 1 mile to the centre of the park... or same route but from Liceu to Passeig de Gràcia station instead, then bus #24 to the east gate of the park (bus stop is 300 yards from it)
