North East England to La Coruña

A quick look at the options seems to indicate it would be: drive or fly to Heathrow, then via Vueling to La Coruña; or ferry from the south coast to Bilbao, then train or hire car.

Can anyone think of anything else? Any organised tours? Not keen on cruises – never tried them, but the idea doesn't appeal; and not keen on connecting flights – pushes up both the travelling time and the cost. But we're willing to consider most things :)

Thanks

You could also fly Stansted (better for you than Heathrow I imagine) to Santiago de Compostela with Ryanair direct. From Santiago airport there is direct bus a day to A Coruña (aena-aeropuertos.es/csee/Satellite/Aeropuert…) or you can get the shuttle bus into Santiago itself (every half hour, 3€ single) and from the bus station get a bus to A Coruña bus station, takes about an hour/hour and a half, I can see 2 companies that do this:

Thanks, RC. That would be a help. I hadn't thought of coming from that end. It gives us the option of stopping over in Santiago as well.

Having flown (once) with Ryanair, I have, like many people, a strong aversion to their unhelpful, cavalier attitude. But as my options are limited, I may have to swallow my pride :)
