OK Thanks. I'm aware that San Roque station is a few km outside of San Roque and there's different bus services between San Roque and La Linea. Is there a particular one you have to catch and is it easy to make that interchange?
Just get the bus that goes to Estacion de San Roque as the station is quite a way out of San Roque itself. You'll be dropped off right by the train station
Do you know how often the buses run between La Linea and Estacion de San Roque? We plan to do a day trip next month from Ronda to Gibraltar by train, and it appears there are not too many trains each day. I want to allow enough time to get to San Roque from La Linea to catch the train back to Ronda.
You're right, I think there's only 2 trains per day.
Google portillo buses for timetable between La Linea and Estacion de San Roque.
Thank you! I found that there are frequent Portillo buses from La Linea to San Roque.
There are actually 4 trains each weekday, although the first one is at 07.30. Three a day at weekends - see www.renfe.com. You will need to use "Can’t find your station? Here you can - Find all stations". It is a really great ride and the trains are very new; we did it in January.
We drove to the station but, as alerady said, make sure that you look at bus timetables for San Roque station, not town centre.
Thanks so much for your help!
We have heard so much about the train journey from San Roque to Ronda, we have decided to do it next week. I see a single fare is 8.70 euros, is it cheaper to get a return ticket? I presume we get the tickets at the station. Can you tell me where the San Roque train station is, we will be driving from Duquesa, also is there parking nearby?
San Roque's train station is approximately 30 kms. from La Duquesa.
Take the motorway direction Algeciras, do not enter San Roque, spent a few kilometres, you find the crossing "Taraguillas", where the station is.
In google.maps, you can see the tour going out from "La Duquesa, Manilva", up to "Estación Férrea, San Roque".
On the station there are parkings.
You can get the tickets at the station, or you can get them buying at reviser/inspector of the train.
