Madrid to Segovia in Half an Hour!

Today the new AVE line to Segovia and Valladolid was inaugurated by the prominent politicians of Spain.

The wonderful news for tourists to Madrid is that they will be able to go to Segovia in half an hour on the AVE, leaving from the Chamartin Station. Now you can easily do a day trip to one of Spain's culinary capitals!

The omnipresent politicians who took the first train want to take all the credit. They were greeted in Valladolid by protesters from other cities who demanded to have the AVE to their cities too, since this will bring an economic bonanza to whatever city the AVE goes to.

Thanks for posting! I will be visiting Segovia in October and the quicker time to get there will be great.

This morning the Mayor of Segovia appeared on the morning news. He said that he did not want Segovia turned into a suburb of Madrid. He will not allow uncontrolled development in this city.
