Transfer from Madrid Airport to AVE Station.

We will be arriving at the Madrid Airport, and then catching the AVE to Barcelona, in late September.

We would really appreciate information as to how and where to make this connection. Is there an airport bus that goes direct to the station, should we get a cab, and anything else we may need to make this transfer painless, as we will have flown from Australia and ready to drop.

Thanks!

If you anticipated being that tired, I recommend a taxi. If you anticipate the outside chance of finding your second wind, go to Top Questions on right hand side of this page, and click on question about a cheaper way to your hotel. Actually, you can take Metro from Terminal 1 in the airport with modern everything (place to put luggage, escalator, etc) to Nuevos Ministerios and then get on Cercanias...(also with escalator or elevator) at Nuevos Ministerios to go to Atocha. Top questions will give you cost details, etc. The metro and

cercanias (light rail) route should cost under 3E/person.

Thanks for speedy response.

We are not staying in Madrid at all...just straight from the airport to the station to get to Barcelona.

If we do decide on the "taxi" option, any idea on aprox costs, time and distance?
