Should I book my Toledo day trip by train in advance?

I'll be taking a day trip from Madrid to Toledo in mid May around 10 in the morning on the high speed train. Do you think I should purchase my tickets in advance?

This is a commuter run that is heavily traveled, so I would buy my ticket ahead of time. Read Buying Renfe Tickets Online.

Your trip is against the commute (few people live in Madrid and travel out to Toledo) so it's really up to you whether to buy in advance or not. The Renfe site is fiddly (directions are on the right) but the tickets won't necessarily have a huge savings. Check online and see what the price is and if you think it's reasonable, buy it. But at that hour on a weekday, headed out of Madrid, it's not really huge issue.

I was wondering why locals were saying it would sell out in advance. I'm sure only tourists and a few others are traveling at that time to Toledo, as you confirmed. Thank you very much.
