Hello there!

There are 2 hotels within the sol area very near the metro:

Hotel moderno & hotel Europa

But just beware that the "central area" also comes with some noise ... So if you are a light sleeper, you may want to consider staying elseware other than the puerta del sol area.

Just stayed in the hotel Atlantico on Grand Via. It's gorgeous, really spacious with excellent service.

I agree with Hola that the Hotel Prado (also called the Hotel Allseasons of late) is a great choice. I also like the Hotel Liabeny in the Sol area (in a quieter area of Sol). I am not so fond of the Gran Via because I hate the traffic and don't think it to be very picturesque but lots of people love it there.

We are staying at Hotel Moderno right now. Great location, close to everything and FREE Wi-fi in your room :)
