Going from Madrid international airport to Train station

What is best way to get from madrid international airport to the Madrid Charmartin train station stop? How long should it take and what is the cost?

I want to buy 2 one way train tickets from Madrid to Leon - probably through RENFE (is that the best place?). If I purchase tickets but miss the train can I use the tickets on a later train? Please confirm that prices listed on RENFE site are one way.

Thank you, Cinda

"probably through RENFE (is that the best place?)"

As far as I know, it is the ONLY place that doesn´t charge commission.

There is a direct rail connection from T4 to Charmartin station.

You will be better off purchasing your tickets ahead of time through Renfe (online) or at the airport with you arrive (one-way or round-trip, your choice). There are ticket offices in T2 & T4, but they do not open until 09:00.

If you miss your train you will have to buy new tickets.

cinda:

Read Buying Renfe Tickets Online.

A taxi will cost you between 25 and 30 euros.

You don't have to take a taxi to Chamartin. You can take the metro. See metromadrid.es for directions.
