Another RENFE question...

I'm trying to book RENFE one way trip from Seville to Madrid Puerta de Atocha and noticed that when I looked at the "Timetable" part of the site, it shows plenty of AVE and ALVIA trains leaving every hour. The Tourista fares start at 83 euro.

But when I go to purchase tickets, I'm only given the choice of 4 ALVIA train trips (the AVE options don't appear) at a cost of 101 euro for each ticket.

Is this because I'm trying to book from outside of Spain?

How far in advance are you looking? And on what days? The timetable is more of a suggestion than it is a reality when you get to booking. Your best bet is to read the excellent guide (first link to your right) and be persistent. The RENFE site is notoriously horrid both in and out of Spain.

Well, I do not have the negativity of other wombats :-) and others regarding the RENFE site, but certainly read the Top Question on the subject for use.

Try again. Many times the Renfe website has errors or it is undergoing maintenance. Take into account the time difference. Maintenance may happen after midnight, Madrid time.
