Mecure Santo Domingo or Emperador

Hi all, looking for some advise please...

I'm torn between these 2 hotels? Both about the same price, both 4*, both rooftop pools and similar locations I think. Any views on which is the nicest/best location please?

Thank you!

Emperador hotel is good location..although Gran Via isn't my favorite location, (very busy) it's handy to most things and public transit. Medura Santo Domingo is a little more out of the way (but not by much), but I think the roof top pool at Hotel Emperador is the best you can find in the center city. Look up both hotels in Trip Advisor for both hotels and see what you think. I would go with Emperador, but ...just my opinion.

I'm with Hola. I am not such a fan of the Gran Via, but many many people adore it and its hustle and bustle. I think the Emperador is better liked, but check the reviews here on TA. That's what I tend to do.

Thank you both - much appreciated, the reviews on here of both hotels were very close. I think we'll go with the Emperador.

Regarding Gran Via - are there restaurants, bars etc around the area or is it a business district?

Thanks

Zoe

There are plenty of restaurants around. They don't tend to be the very best though. But not too far away there is plenty of great food (right in La Latina).
