Changing Metro lines with suitcases?

If we use the Metro to travel from the airport to Opera Metro station, we will need to change twice, at Nuevo Ministerios and Plaza de Espana.

What are these stations like, mid afternoon, for changing with suitcases?

We (2 of us) would normally use a taxi door to door but they seem to be a bit expensive (€30) for such a short journey to the centre of Madrid.

I'd change at Nuevos Ministerios and Príncipe Pío. There are escalators & lifts at Nuevos Ministerios and a lift to the street level at Opera.
