I am travelling in November to Spain with my 8 year old and my elderly mother and aunt (both in their 70s). The biggest challenge will be walking long distances for my mother and aunt, so metro accessible locations and elevator accomodations in Madrid are a must.
Here is what we have planned and I need advice on where to stay and what to see.
Flying in and out of Madrid - plan to stay 3 nights in Madrid -- we are looking at renting an apartment to accomodate the 5 people traveling and provide us with a kitchen. I need suggestions on neighborhoods where it would be good and convenient to stay. We would rather stay in a convenient area that wasn't too loud at night.
Planning on taking the train from Madrid to Malaga - we are staying in Marbella for a week when we leave Madrid. I am also planning on renting a car once we are in Malaga not only to get to the resort, but to do a couple of day trips while we are there.
My plan is to go to Seville and Gibraltar but beyond that I am not sure where else to go outside the resort. Recommendations would be great. We are fans of historic architecture and cultural centers. Less interested in traditional art museums.
