In most of Spain, the summer sales start today and will terminate on Aug. 31.
I was wondering about that myself today. Traditionally, July 1 started the summer sale season, but even with the new law, I bet many stores still start their sales on this date. Can you confirm or deny?
It is hard to stop some traditions :-)
Maybe Madrid is very different to the other parts of Spain I have been too.Since this change I have seen Rebajas at times though out the year.
El Corte Inglés, the largest department store chain in Europe, actually launches sales (rebajas) several times a year -- their well-known 'Semana Fantástica' sales -- but ECI also continues its traditional sales season in summer beginning on July 1. Given the enormous influence that ECI has among other retailers, most of them also launch their sales off on the same dates.
Thank you for the explanation.
